Concept

Everyone’s got that pile… you know that one, with the works in progress… ideas put on the backburner… This is mine on public display. 😅

I love postage stamps for they are a perfect combination of function + art. It’s like a miniature and democratic piece of art that is easily accessible to everyone. This is a conceptual sheet of postage stamps inspired by one of my favorite installation artists, James Turrell. Fun fact: The USPS will not produce postage stamps of people who are still living. Beginning in 2018, proposals for a deceased individual will be considered three years following his/her death. So we won’t be seeing actual James Turrell stamps for a while, but when the time comes, I hope they might consider my design :)

Friendchips is an app concept that came out a wellness hackathon that a couple of my friends attended. They Facetime’d me just to say a quick ‘hello’ and I was so inspired by the idea of Friendchips that I doodled a logo on the spot in like 30 seconds, which went on to win the Judges’ Choice Award. (Which means I’ve unofficially received an award for something that I wasn’t even a participant of, LOL.)

Grocery shopping can be daunting for those who have recently relocated to another country with ingredients, brands, and languages that they are not familiar with. Friendchips will help pair you up with a local resident who volunteers to be your guide around the grocery store. They introduce you to seasonal produce and help find the pantry staples. You discover amazing new flavors and the best in people. You are so thankful for Friendchips.

A partially completed font set...

There’s just something so satisfying about isometry. Many of the places I wish I could visit are based on an isometric grid: Monument Valley, Polly Pockets, the SIMS (honestly, I’ve never played with the SIMS themselves; I’m just there to build houses).

I made ugly x-mas beer koozies for a holiday party I hosted and had so much fun that I want to share it with everyone. This is my website concept where you can customize your own Ugly Xmas Beer Koozie™. Such a work in progress—check it out in Figma.

An simple exploration in using fixed-position scrolling as art and storytelling. Haven’t “landed” this one quite consistently yet. Also, it’s entertaining to see how I can “illustrate” using only emojis. Psst, the trees on the right side are a secret button. Made in Figma.

What is this? It is my first attempt at creating an animated SVG. One idea is to use it as a loading icon for an online version of CMYK-themed Rummikub.
